NEW CLARINET SETUP

The New Clarinet Setup is the recommended service for all professional clarinets that are 'fresh from the factory.' Instrument makers are currently manufacturing some of the most impressive clarinets ever made. However, when new instruments come from the factory they often do so with stiff, uneven spring tension, not enough key lubrication, less than perfect pad work, and tenons that may be binding due to post-production wood expansion. Although it is less common than with older instruments, there may be chipped tone holes with compromised seals. The new clarinet setup is basically an HWC Premium Overhaul without the wood treatment and very little key swedging (which is much less necessary on new instruments).
